You’ve been there before: on a beach, or a hammock, soaking up stretched rays of sunlight. If you talk to Matthew Dayler about the art he created for Origami, he’ll lean back and start to smile.
Matthew’s printmaking art has been exhibited from Switzerland to Australia to Los Angeles. He currently serves as an associate professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and is one of the founders of Xylene. So much of Cincinnati is physically covered in Matthew’s art, including the first bar face installation at 3 Points Urban Brewery.
Wrapped around the bar is a beautiful gradient of a tropical sun covered in palm trees and sunglasses. Origami was inspired by the nuance and technique of Japanese paper folding: simple in design, but complicated in execution. We created a beer, simple in design, but difficult to execute. Matthew did just the same.
Don’t be afraid to run with the bright tropical feel until there’s no sun left.
