We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there. Did that Albatross ever get made? The height of luxury, the future of desire, this is truly the American dream. It’s 1939 and nothing can stop us. Just look at that thing, it practically sells itself. Everyone is going to be jealous when you grab your Albatross. American craftsmanship, European flare.
You’ve had an American Lager. Well this is just that. You can grab it any day of the week, no matter your mood, and it’ll be great.
Bart Leonard, currently residing in Colorado, is no stranger to classic American lagers. Bart was inspired by the legend of the Albatross, a car set to roll off the production line in 1939. Though widely advertised and pitched to America’s elite, the car was never made. Legend has it that Mercury built a one-off in preparation for the auto shows, and that it still might exist today.
Bart has close family ties to our brewers at 3 Points Urban Brewery and was able to explore the myth of the Albatross with us. Bart is a tattoo artist by trade, but uses watercolor and his sketchbook to keep things fresh. Check out his process video to pick up hidden symbols and layers throughout the final art.
